Lighting

Lighting conditions are extremely important when tracking. Our HMC are equipped with Embedded lighting systems available in different options:

Infrared or visible LEDs
- Infrared light is less blinding and enables longer capture sessions, but can only be used if you’re shooting with inertial body motion capture system.
- Visible light is the way to go when you use an optical body motion capture or a VR system.
LED rings or LED strips
- LED rings are strobing light and ensure more consistent illumination conditions. They can be easily turned off by the actor with the Smart Sync Box set on the arm of the head mount (come with STUDIO HMC).
- LED strips emit continuous light (available for Entry-level HMC and GoPro Mount) and are more sensitive to ambient lighting.

Smart Sync Box

Available with Single-View and Multi-View STUDIO HMC, this smart little box brings maximum control to your performance recording and live-tracking sessions by:

handling effective lighting with strobing LED ring(s) synchronized with the shutter of the camera(s),
synchronizing cameras when recording with stereo systems,
getting/setting information and commands wirelessly with a timecode server,
exchanging information with Grabber and Monitor software.

On-Board Recorder

Coming with the wireless versions of the STUDIO HMC, our On-Board Recorder enables to record your facial mocap session directly on the actor, monitoring the performance wirelessly with Monitor software.

Head Mount

Dynamixyz’ HMC mounts have been designed with airy soft shells to preserve ears from scratches and to be worn for hours by actors.
The side and back adjustable tightening knobs with locking system make it very easy to fit all head morphologies.
Their light weight enable a fluid play of the actor who can focus more easily on his performance.
